Pansies are for thoughts
$200.00
Pansies were my late Mother’s favourite flower so I was thinking of her when creating this print . In this technique , I used a carving tool to gouge out the design on a wooden board , thus creating the white lines . Then I carefully painted the flowers and vase using layer of watercolour paints .

am a retired primary school teacher who majored in Art . Although I was mainly a generalist classroom teacher , I have taught art at several schools during my career . Since retiring 11 years ago I have devoted my time and energy to pursuing my love of art . My medium of choice is oil paints and I use these to create paintings in a stylised realistic manner . My favourite subjects ate people and bird portraits , sunsets and sunrises and scenes from nature that feature drama and texture . I also paint using soft pastels and watercolours . for the past 7 years, I have been learning exploring printmaking techniques . I have created prints using these methods: linocut, woodcut, collagraphs, etching, dry point, monotype and monoprint, white line printing, eco printing and screen printing. I especially enjoy reduction lino and wood cuts , white line prints and shellac etching . This is the 10th year in which I have entered the Apollo Bay art show
