“Gav! I didn’t know you were an artist…?” (And neither did I)
I started to tinker around the edges of painting in 2005, as an extension to some drawings I had done, not believing it would start to consume my time as much as it has. But it has only been since 2015, after doing several portraits of people I have known, and entering several other paintings in some local art shows, that I have started to accept that this is something that I am becoming more accomplished at and after recent accolades from friends and family I have decided to put more time into this art form.
From January 2022, I have decided to take a ‘gap year’ from full time employment to put more effort into my art forms and as of March 2022, I have enrolled with Oxygen College in Geelong to start and complete a Cert IV in Painting, Drawing and Visual Arts.
I have no formal training or had any lessons, I have interpreted only what is in my mind and adapted my style to suit.
