Flax and Wool woven tray basket

$150.00

This basket has been made from NZ Flax in the traditional eel trap technique as taught to me by Aunty Browen Razem. Eels swim freely on Gadubanud lands and I feel to some extent I am lucky to do so also, amongst our warm community and following my creative passions. Each row is individually stitched in a blanket stitch technique over a core of flax. the last few rows have been completed in handspun handdyed yarn in my favourite ocean colours. This tray will sit as an artwork alone or can be used for practical purpose to store seasonal fruits or odds and ends.
