Artist Bio
Deb Gartland is a self-taught traditional and contemporary fine art photographer, who goes around with a head full of high falutin’ ideas! Deb is not a purist, and pushes herself to break the rules, challenge boundaries and create visually confronting images with her photography. Deb‘s photography is highly eclectic and ranges from macro, portraiture and landscapes to still life, abstract and experimental. The beginning of 2019 saw Deb win the inaugural (acquisitive) Conceptual Photography Award – with overall winner and best entry by an Australian Photographic Society member. Deb’s passion is illustrative photo/digital composites – basically a digital collage put together in Photoshop using elements of her photography, created elements and occasionally commercial rights purchased elements other artists create. Through Gellibrand River Gallery, Deb has the physical and creative freedom to do what she loves – create works that are left-of-field, confront viewers and challenge
