My background is in horticulture including garden design. In this pen and watercolour pencil drawing, I have used symbols that could be used in the design process of a garden concept plan. Biology and botany are also influences. The shapes of plants, plant cellular structure and inflorescences are elements to this drawing.

Artist Bio
My name is Karen Voss and I am an artist and horticulturist residing in Gherang Victoria. It is only in recent years that I have started to exhibit my artwork. I draw on my knowledge and experience gained while working in the horticultural industry. I use both pen and watercolour pencil, and acrylic.
I began by drawing garden design concept and planting plans for clients. This has evolved into my current artwork. Symbols representing trees, shrubs etc. were the starting point which then morphed into other things. Biology and botany are fundamental to my artwork. The shapes of plants, plant cellular structures and inflorescences are all elements in what I draw and paint.
My first solo exhibition was in July 2021 at The Space Gallery in Geelong which was work in pen and watercolour pencil. This year I have an exhibition this March again at The Space Gallery using both pen and watercolour pencil and acrylic.
I have also exhibited my acrylic paintings at various group exhibition
