Artist Bio
Rob Wilmot, knife maker for 40 years, specialising in knives made from salvaged steel & wood.
Chef’s knives, smaller general purpose kitchen knives & heavier choppers, plus robust camp knives.
High carbon steel from vintage saw blades has a special place in my workshop. It can be successfully annealed & later hardened, after grinding to shape, in the wood-burning forge. Carbon steel will discolour with use, but usually performs better than stainless regarding toughness, edge retention and ease of sharpening.
Most knives are custom made to order.
