My fascination with the weathered and worn and interest in the Japanese aesthetic of Wabi Sabi, (art and beauty in imperfection) came together in my ‘Hull’ series. History is there to be read in layers of contrasting paint, exposed by wear and tear and the elements.

Artist Bio
GAYLE SEACH contemporary paintings
Gayle studied art, design and textiles in the 70’s, and has worked overseas and in Australia as an artist in many areas, including illustration, fabric design, gift wrap and greeting card design.
Living in Apollo bay helps inform her unique take on environmental elements and her work gives a different perspective to the everyday. Her colourful, modern paintings & drawings consist of quiet ‘scapes’ (land and sea) with a graphic edge, through to more abstracted, instinctive works, all with her trademark textures and layers.
