Resident seal of Apollo Bay Harbour

This is a painting of the seal that resided at the Apollo Bay Harbour during
the winter of 2021. I was on holidays in Apollo Bay and a subsequent visitor
to the harbour to get some painting ideas. It was positioned near the area
where fish are gutted so it was waiting for a feed. I kept my distance not aware
that it can bite until I was told but I in my heart I didn’t really believe it…..

I am a Melbourne based artist who likes to specialise in oil paintings, pen drawings and copper
plate etching. My subjects include landscapes, sea scapes, city scapes and portraits. I have
a particular love of the sea and its environs so it forms a central theme in my work.
