Moonahs, Graphite, Tea and Tea-tree by the Sea
$850.00
I sketched this work standing the beach in front of the tree. In the weeks that followed I have seen large parts of it fall into the sea, due to coastal erosion. A similar fate threatens many other trees there on the Mornington Peninsula and elsewhere as sea levels rise and erosion increases. I am glad to have, in a sense, captured this one at least.

Artist Bio
For many years I have worked as an illustrator for environmental education publications and children’s books. This work has encompassed a wide range of styles and subject matter; park signage, cartoons, realistic natural history drawings, children’s story book illustrations, etc.
I spend much of my time currently sketching in various Victorian coastal environs, with a special interest in the wonderful gnarled and twisted shapes of the old trees that are found in these areas and which are fast disappearing due to old age, tidal erosion and other changing climate factors.
