Esmeralda

$160.00

Esmeralda came to me in various stages , I initially created her in response to another woven creature I had made who I named Steve. Steve preferred the quiet life but Esmeralda was ready to metaphorically spread her wings and bring some colour and whimsy to another home. She can be hung by her purple flax and fabric wings or stand on her woodblock originally a printing block. All her parts are made from either natural materials her driftwood backbone, flax beak body and core of her wings or textile materials found around home including a feather from nannas hat in her tail. Techniques in her construction include stitching crochet and weaving.
